Day 9: The perfect burger. A hot summer evening means the perfect burger from the grill. A little local, pasture-raised ground beef, some secret spices, melty Fontina cheese, fresh greens, crisp bacon, a slice or two of juicy tomato and maybe just a smidge of mustard. All on a toasted bun. Served with a side of crunchy, salty steak fries dusted with smoked paprika. Sounds perfect to me. What is your perfect burger?

Thanks! We spent all our creativity and energy on the burgers and lamed out on the fries. They’re just unsalted Whole Foods brand steak fries. We made them in the oven, but they weren’t as crispy as I like fries to be, so I’d absolutely fry them in the future. Once they were hot, I dusted them with smoked paprika and sprinkled them with lots of salt and we were ready to go.
